Real Motorsport Ltd, the management team behind Mallory Park Race Circuit, are proud to be supporting former Grand Prix and IOM TT sidecar racing star Colin Seeley and his charity; The Joan Seeley Pain Relief Memorial Trust at the Mallory Bike Bonanza 2015.
By working closely together, Real Motorsport Ltd & Colin Seeley hope to raise more than £10,000 which will be used to purchase vital pain relief equipment for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, based in nearby Loughborough.
Colin Seeley from Sidcup, Kent, founded The Joan Seeley Pain Relief Memorial Trust after the death of his first wife, Joan, from bone cancer in 1979. As a tribute to her courage, he set up the Trust to provide equipment for the relief of chronic pain. The Trusts patron is famous race commentator Murray Walker and his predecessor was Mike Hailwood MBE, GM.
Colin, the former Grand Prix sidecar racer, racing machine constructor and racing team principal says: “I’m proud that every pound given to our charity is spent on equipment. Over the years we have raised over £100,000 for good causes throughout the UK, with many donations coming from the motorcycling world.”
As part of the fundraising efforts over the weekend, a charity auction will be held in the entertainment marquee on Saturday evening. If you would like to donate a prize for the auction, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with the circuit office on 01455 502214.

Triple world sidecar racing champions Steve Webster and Tony Hewitt return to the race track for the first time together in 26 years when they ride at Mallory Park on Friday 27 March in a test day for the British Historic Racing BEAR’s Championship.
Webster and Hewitt dominated the World scene, taking the crown in three successive years, 1987-1989, and now they are all set to return to action at the Leicstershire circuit as part of a drive by the BEAR’s sidecar racing fraternity to raise awareness of their branch of the sport which offers cost effective action.
“Tony and I are greatly looking forward to getting that bike into sixth round Gerard’s,” said Webster, MBE, who went on to take no less than ten world titles. Now, in rather different machinery to that in which he conquered the world, the Yorkshireman relishes the opportunity of riding the outfit prepared by reigning BEAR’s Champion Phil Jones, who is known to most in the paddock as “Slow Phil.”
The BEAR’s championship using bikes of British, European or American manufacturer and Webster and Hewitt will be relying on BWM power for their return on a day when members of the public contemplating taking up the sport will not only be able to meet up and have a chat, but also experience the thrills of the circuit themselves.
Sidecar crews will be giving would be racers the chance to live the dream during the day on a free of charge basis, though subject to payment of an insurance premium of £13 per person.
The return of Webster and Hewitt promises to be something special, and not to be missed, as they provide instant nostalgia amid a day of action as the competitors in the British Historic Racing series use the day to prepare for their opening meeting of the season at Mallory Park over the weekend of 11-12 April.
Admission to the test day on Friday 27 March (the only occasion to see Webster and Hewitt in action) is £3 while admission to the British Historic Racing meeting on 11-12 April is priced at £12 per day, or if tickets are purchased online in advance at £10 per day.
If you would like to take part in the BEARs big wheel sidecar experience call David Sykes on 0116 2876119.
